SOLO Taxonomy

SOLO is about the level of learning you do. At the senior hub we are are learning about.

Devices & Self Management

There are five levels of learning in SOLO taxonomy.

This is in order from lowest to highest and the ideas will be below


Pre Structural

  • Sitting close to the teacher
  • If they are using a device they should have their screen facing the teacher
  • Not able to sit beside a Pre Structural friend
  • Allowed to work with Relational + Extended Abstract
  • No Music
  • No Games

Unistructural

  • Have to sit where the teacher can see them
  • Screen facing teacher
  • Told to have free time
  • Can work with Relational + Extended Abstract

Multi Structural

  • Needs to ask teacher to go outside
  • When they are outside they need to be seen

Relational

  • Needs to ask for music
  • Asks to sit wherever they want
  • Have to ask to do things like Extended Abstract

Extended Abstract

  • Allowed on music with headphones
  • Ask to sit wherever they want
  • Don't need their screen facing the teacher
  • Allowed to sit outside as long as they ask
  • Setting their breaks
  • Collaborating with other people in their free time
  • At free time they know which sites to go on
  • Has to come over to a Pre Structural, Unistructural and Multisructural space if they are working together
